I’m excited that this weekend, our Student Ministries team will begin a new teaching series titled “The Talk”. I’m proud of Darius and Jeremiah for being willing to tackle such a tough subject in order to equip teens to live a life of purity. This will be a honest, appropriate look at what God has to say to our students about sex and how they can honor God in this area of their life. As a parent, I’m thankful to have a church that is reinforcing what we’re teaching our children at home. You can bet I will make sure my son will be at THE SPOT for every week of “The Talk”! for more info go to www.pvcstudents.com Check out the promo video…
Palm Valley Church,
We have an incredible opportunity once again to help out the homeless children at Lattie Coor Elementary. All the children will be going on their spring break by the end of next week and I am sure everyone has in mind what kids normally do on spring break-sleep in, watch tv, go to the movies, go shopping at the mall, eat at In-N-Out twice a day, etc. However, the school is currently receiving homeless children EVERY day and those kids are able to receive food from government programs while they are at school and the nurse is able to provide some clothes and toiletries items while they are at school, but on spring break they have none of those options. Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves”. The kids at Lattie Coor Elementary have no voice but they are in need. We have a chance to help these kids experience God’s love and grace through your generous hearts here at Palm Valley Church.
We have a list of 46 students who are in need of basic items from clothes to toiletries, if you would like to help give these kids a voice by “sponsoring” a child we will provide the list of what that child needs for you to purchase, if you can’t afford to sponsor a child but want to donate a few items we are looking for personal hygiene products…
- combs and brushes
- soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant.
You can stop by the office to drop off the items and/or pick up the list for what a child needs, you can also pick up a list from Pastor Mark Grochocki at the resource kiosk this weekend. All items need to be delivered by Wednesday, March 9th so that they can receive the items before they go on Spring Break. Thank you so much for being a generous church! Deuteronomy 15:10 says, “Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.”
