It was a long and weird weekend given the holidays and the fact that I decided to stay home with the family on Sunday. It was odd to wake up and not head to church. Instead we went to Bill Johnson’s Big Apple for some awesome chicken-fried steak. Here are a few of the thoughts that come to mind when I reflect on the weekend:
- It was so nice to be home with the family and just hang out. The kids were out of school so we had a blast. Since I generally work weekends while my kids are home, I have to be very intentional about connecting with them and giving them quality and quantity time.
- I ate way too much over the weekend, which means I have to get back to the gym.
- I didn’t realize how many Palm Valley’ers go to Bill Johnson’s for brunch
- I heard that Ryan did an excellent job of teaching this weekend. I can’t wait to watch the video.
- I also heard that worship rocked. Derrick is growing in confidence and ability which is benefiting PVC
more-and-more. I’m excited to see what he has planned for Christmas. - Christmas is coming, and so too the new teaching series entitled “ACT”. You won’t want to miss it.
- Be sure to make plans for Christmas Eve services and invite, invite, invite people to join you!
- Volunteers make all the difference at PVC. If you’re one of them, thank you. If not, and you’re sitting
on the sidelines, you can sign up and get involved. Just go here: http://www.palmvalley.org/GetConnected/VolunteerOpportunities/ApplytoVolunteer/tabid/126/Default.aspx - The Raiders finally won! Now it’s about time to start Jamarcus Russell and let him take his hits and learn the game!
As we look to the coming weekend, please come ready to worship, and ready to grow, knowing that we’re all going to be stretched in this new series.
