Thanks for your prayers for Sarah. What a weekend of ups and downs for her family.
Saturday she was doing great, until the blood clot in her brain that caused a stroke.
Sunday morning she was doing well, but doctors thought there was paralysis.
Monday morning I received news that Sarah is breathing on her own and moving her fingers & toes.
Praise God for the miracles; let’s keep praying for this young gal who’s fighting so valiantly, and for her family.
UPDATE (Saturday at 2:00 pm) Sarah is alert and responsive, recognizing her parents and controlling her movements. Keep praying that the Lord would continue to heal her. Pray for every doctor/surgeon/nurse/specialist that they would have wisdom beyond their own to continue to treat her. Thanks!
Many of you have been praying for Sarah, a young gal who has been waiting for a heart transplant. She and her family have been in Tucson waiting for the right heart to become available. Wednesday evening they found the right heart and immediately took her into surgery.
Everything was progressing well until this evening. She had a stroke caused by a blood clot in her brain. The doctors are saying the next few days are critical.
Please pray for Sarah. Please pray that God would perform a miracle and bring healing to her body.
I can’t wait to teach this weekend. With the time off recently, God has really been speaking to my heart, and I can’t wait to share!
We’re starting a new series titled “Blog”, in which I’ll just be speaking about some things that I’ve been wrestling with. Should be fun. Make sure you’re there this weekend (early
)!
Wanted to wish you a happy 4th of July. In light of what’s going on in the world, I really appreciate the freedom we have here in the USA.
Lori and I (and the kids) are hitting a couple pool party/bbq’s, watching some fireworks, and just relaxing. Have a great day.
I’ve taken some time off over the past 6 weeks, actually only teaching once. I’ve been in the office; reading, working with staff, planning, etc.. but it’s been an incredible time for me. It’s the first time in 7 years that I’ve been able to really step back and recharge, dream, and just plain rest. I needed it.
One of the things that has been a huge encouragement to me is to see what an awesome staff team we have at Palm Valley. Ryan, Daniel and Darius flat out brought it each time they taught. It’s fun for me to watch these guys develop and hone their teaching skill; and man, they can teach.
A few months ago we changed up our structure, and I really assigned the day to day running of the church to our lead team. Mark Gumm, our Executive Pastor, has really stepped up and run with his responsibility. He’s taken so much off my plate, and it’s really allowed me to focus on doing what I’m called to do. Dave, Karina, Ryan, and Darius have come alongside Mark and really managed the day to day operations of all our ministries.
Overall, I’m just so proud of our team. I’m also excited about the future of PVC, as we’re now structured to allow us to experience more growth in the coming days.
