Most people who don’t call themselves Christians view Christianity as a religion. They would (for the most part) accept it as a valid religion, along with other major religions.
This bothers me. Christ didn’t die on the cross to help us choose the right religion, He is “the way, the truth, and the life”. He abolished “religion”, and yet fulfilled the law. He provided forgiveness for us; He provides fullness of life, He provides comfort, counsel, and direction. He changes lives, and changes them for eternity. I once was blind, but now I see. I was lost, but now I’m found. That’s our story!
This weekend I’ll be talking about this, and helping people who are seeking God understand that it’s all about a relationship with Christ. I’m sorry us Christians make it look so ugly sometimes. If you attend Palm Valley, make sure you’re bringing people who don’t know Christ with you this weekend!
This weekend was amazing. The praise team just absolutely rocked our worlds! Thanks guys for the incredible effort and energy you brought.
We talked about making some noise, you can watch it here. If you’re a person who attends Palm Valley, this is the week to invite your friends, family, neighbors who don’t know Christ. I will be talking about “MADE…to tell a story”. You and I all know people who need to be at PVC this weekend, make sure you bring them! I can’t wait to see what God does!
I told you this weekend was going to absolutely rock, and Saturday night service was absolutely off the hook. It was without a doubt the best Saturday night we’ve had. The crowd was up, and they were excited about being there. Karina and the praise team nailed it tonight.
I talked about making some noise in this world, beginning with our passion for Jesus that compels us to make an impact in the lives of others! God has opened a window, it’s time for us to seize the moment!
I took a break from writing the daily Purpose Driven Life thoughts. Last week just went crazy with my schedule. We’re on the edge of a ton of exciting things at Palm Valley Church, and they got my focus last week.
All I can say PVC is look out!
All I can say is you don’t want to miss this weekend at Palm Valley Church, it is absolutely going to rock! My message is “MADE…To Make Some Noise”!
Karina has some incredible surprises planned for the service, you will be amazed. I guarantee you have never experienced what is going to happen in the service this week. Here’s a tip: get there early and stay until the end.
I’m pumped, can’t wait to be with you this weekend!
I posted last week that I would be blogging about lessons I’ve learned in 6 years of leading Palm Valley Church. Those are still coming, we’re just waiting to get the “permalink” feature enacted for my blog. That way people will be able to link to and find these posts as we go forward.
By the way, I’m often asked why I don’t use blogger or Typepad instead of having my blog on the Palm Valley site. My main reason is that by having my blog as a part of the PVC site, it keeps me focused on being the pastor, and connecting with the people of Palm Valley. It also increases the traffic on our web site, helping our search stats with google/yahoo etc…
I decided to head over to join the set-up crew tonight for the midnight special. As I drove into the parking lot at 12:05 am (I know, 5 minutes late) my heart was encouraged big time as the parking lot looked pretty busy. There were already about 75-100 people doing set-up, and man, they were going at it!
I briefly reflected on how early on in our church, this would have been a huge crowd, now it’s the set-up team. As we celebrate our 6 year anniversary today, I’m amazed at all that God has done in such a short time. I can’t wait to see what happens over the next six years!
A huge thanks to all the folks who came out tonight; it was a blast to see you having so much fun serving the Lord. I love the spirit of the people at PVC: no task is too big for you, and no task is too little. See you in the morning.
